Web design for tradies, a website that books jobs instead of sitting there

What a tradie website actually has to do

Web design for tradies turns searches into booked jobs by making it easy to call, check your work and request a quote.

Most websites for tradies are built like a business card. A logo, a list of services, a contact form nobody tests, and that is the job done.

That is not what a trade website is for. Someone finds you because a hot water system has let go, a roof is leaking, or a switchboard is tripping. They are on a phone, they are not browsing, and they will call whoever makes it easiest to call.

A tradie website has one job. Turn a search into a booked job. Everything else on the page is decoration.

Why most tradie websites do not get calls

Four things account for nearly all of it.

The phone number is not obvious. If someone has to scroll or hunt for it, you have lost to the bloke whose number sits at the top of every page.

It is slow on a phone. Nearly all your traffic is mobile. A site that takes five seconds to load on a patchy signal loses the job before it appears.

There is no proof. Stock photos of someone else's van, no real jobs, no reviews on the page. Nothing that says you have done this before.

The enquiry goes nowhere. Contact forms fail quietly. If nobody has tested yours since it was built, assume it is broken, because plenty are.

What your tradie website should include

  • A phone number that is tappable and visible on every screen without scrolling
  • Real photos of your work, your van and your face, not stock images
  • Your service area stated plainly, so people know you cover them
  • Your licence number and insurance where people can see them, not buried
  • A short quote form that asks for as little as possible
  • Reviews on the page, not just on your Google profile
  • Page titles written for what people actually type, not for your business name
  • Your Google Business Profile connected properly to the site

If a quote for tradie website design is missing any of these, you are paying for a brochure.

Pick the trade closest to yours

Every trade wins work slightly differently. An emergency plumber and a landscaper doing six week projects need different sites.

Explore websites for electricians, plumbers, roofers, landscapers, concreters, plasterers, pool builders, solar installers, and builders and premium trades.

What it costs

A standard five page trade website is $999 to $2,500 one off, plus GST. Hosting and maintenance is $60 a month after that.

If you want the number for your own business, the cost calculator will give it to you in about thirty seconds.

How long it takes

One to two weeks once your content is ready. The hold up is almost always photos and words, not the build.

Straight answers before you commit

What is the difference between a tradie website and a normal website?

A normal website tells people who you are. A tradie website is built to get the phone to ring. Tappable numbers, fast mobile loading, real proof of work, and a quote form that actually reaches you.

How much does a tradie website cost?

$999 to $2,500 one off plus GST for a standard five page build, then $60 a month for hosting and maintenance.

Do I need a website if I already get work from word of mouth?

Referrals still check you online before they call. A weak site can lose you a job that was already yours.

Will a website on its own get me more calls?

It is the foundation. Getting found is a separate job, which is what SEO for tradies covers.

Do you only work with trades in the Illawarra?

No. I work with trades across Australia, though I only take one business per trade per area.

Check if your area is still open

I only work with one business per trade per area, so I am not competing against my own clients. Check whether your trade is still available where you are.
